Scott Vevers Chartered Accountants in Dorset

Scott Vevers is a leading firm of Chartered Accountants in West Dorset established in 1921 with its main office in Bridport and managers located throughout the county including Weymouth and Dorchester.

We seek to provide a quality service in a friendly, professional and cost effective manner, backed up by specialist advice where appropriate on the basis that every assignment is important regardless of individual size or complexity.

Managing Director

Marcus Cridland B.A.(Hons) F.C.A.

Marcus gained a University Degree in Accounting in 1994. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997 before joining Scott Vevers in 1999 as a manager. He was awarded a fellowship by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 2008 which acknowledges his higher level of professional experience. On 1st December 2008, Marcus took over Scott Vevers as Managing Director.

Marcus acts for and advises companies, individuals, sole traders, partnerships and charities. He is in charge of all of the firms company and charity audits. Marcus lives in Weymouth and is happy to visit clients at their premises wherever they are located.

Consultant

John Scott F.C.A.

John qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1971. He worked for various firms in Kent and in 1972, he became a full equity partner in Scott Vevers and then a consultant to the firm in 2008.

Over the years, he has gained experience in many matters and he always tries to pass the knowledge gained on to clients. Although it is obviously important to prepare accounts and tax returns accurately & effectively, he believes that it is equally important to fully consider the accounts and tax returns.

For example, if the accounts show poor results, consideration should be given as to whether anything can be done to improve the position. One should always consider whether clients are organising their affairs in the most tax efficient manner, but at all times appreciating clients personal wishes.

Managers

Stephen Potter F.C.C.A C.T.A.

Stephen is a family man from Bridport. He has been working in practice since 1988 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1996 and then as a Chartered Tax Advisor in 1999. Stephen manages a large number of personal tax clients whilst also acting for many business clients from sole traders to limited companies. Stephen enjoys spending time with his family and friends and is also a keen runner.

Colin House F.M.A.A.T., M.A.T.T.

Colin is Dorset born and bred. He attended Hardye's School in Dorchester before joining the firm in 1975.

Colin is experienced in accounting and taxation matters and still has some clients from the time he first started at the firm.

Colin Willcox M.A.A.T.

Colin has been working with the firm since leaving school in 1974 and is now a very experienced member of staff.

Colin deals with a wide range of business accounts and taxation affairs. In a rural area, Colin deals with many farming clients. Colin is a keen golfer and cricketer.

Steve Lincoln F.C.C.A.

Steve qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2004, winning a prize for one of the highest examination scores in Dorset, he has since gone on to attain Fellowship status in 2009.

Steve deals with companies, sole traders, partnerships and charities of varying sizes and industries, as well as a wide array of tax returns. In addition to his accountancy and tax knowledge he is very experienced with Microsoft Office.
