Scott Vevers is a leading firm of Chartered Accountants in West Dorset established in 1921 with it's main office in Bridport & managers located throughout the county including Weymouth and Dorchester.

We seek to provide a quality service in a friendly, professional and cost effective manner, backed up by specialist advice where appropriate on the basis that every assignment is important regardless of individual size or complexity.

Principal

John Scott F.C.A., Cert. PFS.

Following a short period in the cash department of the Prudential Insurance Company in London, I took up Articles and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1971. I worked for various firms in Kent and in 1972 , I became a full equity partner in my present firm.

Over the years, I have gained experience in many matters and I always try to pass the knowledge I have gained on to clients. Although it is obviously important to prepare accounts and tax returns accurately & effectively, I believe that it is equally important to fully consider the accounts and tax returns.

For example, if the accounts show poor results, consideration should be given as to whether anything can be done to improve the position. One should always consider whether clients are organising their affairs in the most tax efficient manner, but at all times appreciating clients personal wishes.

Managers

Marcus Cridland B.A.(Hons) F.C.A.

Marcus gained a University Degree in Accounting in 1994. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997 before joining Scott Vevers in 1999 as a manager. He was awarded a fellowship by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 2008 which acknowledges his higher level of professional experience.

Marcus acts for and advises companies, individuals, sole traders, partnerships and charities. He is the firms Audit Manager, in charge of all of the firms company and charity audits. Marcus is responsible for all areas of information technology within the firm and helps clients when they encounter software problems.

Richard Mallinson F.C.A.

Richard qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979 and has been with the firm since 1985.

He has offshore tax experience and currently specialises in personal tax.

Colin House F.M.A.A.T., M.A.T.T.

Colin is Dorset born and bred. He attended Hardye's School in Dorchester before joining the firm in 1975.

Colin is experienced in accounting and taxation matters and still has some clients from the time he first started at the firm.

Colin Willcox M.A.A.T.

Colin has been working with the firm since leaving school in 1974 and is now an experienced member of staff.

Colin deals with a wide range of business accounts and taxation affairs. In a rural area, Colin deals with many farming clients.
